בבית קטן שבלב המדבר, מתגוררת סבתא לצד נכדתה החולה. כשהילדה נערכת למסע אל האוקיינוס – עולם רחוק ולא מוכר – היא נאלצת לצאת לדרך לבדה. באהבה וביגון, הסבתא מניחה לה ללכת. כדי להקל על הפחד מהלא-נודע, על הבדידות ועל הפרידה, היא מחוללת את האוקיינוס מתוך שפת המדבר. דרך דמיון ורכות, הים מתחיל לחלחל אל החולות. רגעי הסיום במדבר הופכים רכים, כשהסבתא מלווה באהבה את נכדתה, ולו ברוחה, לקראת המפגש עם האוקיינוס. 

In a small house nestled in the heart of the desert, a grandmother lives with her ill granddaughter. As the girl prepares for a journey to the ocean, a distant, unfamiliar world, she must go alone. With love and sorrow, the grandmother lets her go. To ease the fear of the unknown, the loneliness, and the parting, she conjures the ocean through the language of the desert. Through imagination and tenderness, the sea begins to seep into the sands. The final moments in the desert become soft, as the grandmother lovingly accompanies her granddaughter, if only in spirit, toward the meeting with the ocean.
